In this intensive weekend workshop you will learn how to create plaster molds, a fundamental tool for those who want to reproduce ceramic pieces accurately and in small batches.
We will work from scratch: from the analysis of the original object to the making of the mold and casting in liquid clay (barbotina).
You will understand how to analyze a piece to turn it into a viable mold.
You will learn to calculate the amount of plaster needed.
You will perform the formwork and pouring of the plaster.
You will discover how to prepare the cocktail for pouring.
You will make a pour with a demonstration mold.
To take advantage of the course, it is important that we decide in advance which piece we will use to make the mold. Ideally, it should be no larger than 15x15x15cm in volume (more or less), and more or less symmetrical so that we can make a two-dish mold (two parts).
You don't need to bring anything, I just recommend a notebook for taking notes.
